We are working on behalf of a global, diverse manufacturing group, which supplies its leading electro-mechanical products into sectors such as aerospace and defence. They are well positioned for further accelerated growth and are seeking to recruit an experienced Systems and Requirements Engineering Associate Manager to be based at their Sussex site.

Our client sets high standards and is committed to recruiting the best talent. The successful candidate will be a credible Leader and possess a passion for engineering and technology. They will also possess a Mechanical Engineering Degree or similar and extensive proven experience of product development testing, having managed a Test and Integration development environment, whilst developing the team, scheduling test programmes, diagnosis of faults and managing environmental testing ie temperature, humidity and vibration.

These skills will have been gained in complex engineering manufacturing environments; ideally within aerospace / defence and knowledge of automated test cell design, high pressure pneumatics, electronic design and LabVIEW software would be a distinct advantage.

Strong IT skills, attention to detail, methodical approach and ability to work both autonomously and as part of a dedicated team are a given; as is a good understanding of test system design and implementation, product lifecycle, sensors and laboratory test equipment such as multimeters, verniers.

This varied and challenging role will include leading a team of engineers who perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints, performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications, developing departmental process and procedures and financial reporting / programme forecasting
